CUSTOM BUTTER FINDER VIEWFINDER
These Viewfinders are an offshoot of another project that we’ve been working on: the CAMERADACTYL OG 4x5 Hand Camera. They are lensless finders that help in framing. They are shoe mount and come in standard aspect ratios / focal lengths (angle of view) for $13, or we can make any custom focal length/aspect ratio for $20.
90mm on 4x5, or about 30mm on 35mm film are about as wide as your eye can see without moving around the frame, so anything shorter (more wide angle), you should go with a diopter viewfinder from another vendor. These work great from slightly wide to slightly telephoto (90mm to 200mm on 4x5 and about 35-80mm on 35mm). Because there’s no glass, they’re always 1:1 with your eye, which is especially great if you like to shoot with both eyes open.
The Viewfinders slide in to a standard shoe mount, and we suggest a small piece of black gaffers tape on the bottom of the shoe for a nice snug fit.
Only available in black for practical reasons, but drop us a line if you’d like something wacky and custom.
